HYBE Accused of Pressuring Media to Spread False Information About Min Hee Jin

Ilgan Sports has published a detailed article accusing HYBE of unethical practices in the media world.

According to the article, HYBE's sudden decision to audit ADOR had clear motives, and the company used the media to spread false information.

The media outlet explains:

"The goal of this media manipulation is unclear. Are they trying to fire Min Hee Jin? Or ostracize her from society? HYBE's irrational media play continued. For three days, articles flooded in about how Min Hee Jin allegedly claimed that RIIZE, TWS, ILLIT, and BTS were created by copying her work."

In this explosive piece, Ilgan Sports also revealed that a HYBE marketing executive went to a media outlet to complain about an article stating that Min Hee Jin was meeting with significant HYBE investors. According to the report, HYBE wanted to exclude the investors' names to make it seem like Min Hee Jin was meeting with unrelated investors.

"Not only did they involve small investors, but HYBE also irrationally used its main shareholders as pawns for their media play. During the trial concerning Min Hee Jin's injunction, HYBE revealed that Min Hee Jin had met with its main investors, D and N. Just before the trial, it was reported that D and N were Doonamoo and Naver.

After it was reported that Min Hee Jin had met with Doonamoo's Song Chi Hyung and Naver's CEO Choi Soo Yeon, it was then reported that the two investors couldn't help in the management control fight. HYBE's main PR representative then went to the media outlet that reported the incident and demanded that the names be removed from the article, but this was refused. HYBE had publicly revealed that Min Hee Jin had met with the leaders of its main shareholders but then absurdly asked the media to delete the names once they were revealed."

HYBE wanted to manipulate public opinion into thinking Min Hee Jin met with investors to buy ADOR, which was not the case at all.

Ilgan Sports continued to reveal another example of HYBE's media play.

"The most irrational media play happened 20 minutes before HYBE's press conference where they announced the audit. HYBE released a press statement saying Min Hee Jin was using a shaman to run ADOR. All the allegations in the press statement about Min Hee Jin following a shaman were denied by her the day before in her response to HYBE's inquiry on the 24th.

What's even more problematic is that once Min Hee Jin sent her response to HYBE's inquiries, HYBE refused to disclose them and threatened legal action if any publication did. Then, 20 minutes before the press conference, they sent a press release saying it was Min Hee Jin who was threatening legal action."

HYBE threatened to sue the media if they mentioned Min Hee Jin's responses to their questions, forcing the media to only report HYBE's perspective.

Ilgan Sports then mentioned HYBE's PR team, revealing they pressured and tried to force the media to write unfavorable articles about Min Hee Jin.

"After the April 25 audit announcement, HYBE's PR representative asked why Ilgan Sports and another unnamed media outlet were siding with Min Hee Jin. We never took Min Hee Jin's side. We only wrote about her press conference...

In the entertainment industry, they say you can tolerate criticism but should avoid becoming a target of ridicule. Since this industry thrives on image, this is especially true. Because it's not something quantifiable, entertainment industry PR professionals put the most thought and effort into this aspect.

HYBE's PR representatives complain, as the judgment on the injunction approaches, that rational media sides with them, but fans motivated by emotion always support Min Hee Jin. For someone in the industry who closely watches how entertainment industry fans react, this is something that should never be said. It shows their disdain for reason."
