Recently, the IVE member was the target of death threats, with an online individual announcing that he would attack her at a specific time and date.
On May 9, Starship Entertainment issued a statement on the situation:
“Hello. This is Starship Entertainment.
Yesterday, a message threatening the safety of our artist, Jang Wonyoung of IVE, was posted on a community platform.
The message, which specified the date and time of the threat, was reported to the police, who have opened an investigation into the matter. We have requested a swift investigation and protective measures for our artist, and are prepared to take legal action as soon as the identity of the individual is confirmed.
To ensure the safety of our artists, we are recruiting additional professional security personnel and reviewing the security of our artists' travel routes, residences and workplaces. In the future, we will intensify surveillance against any threats to the safety of our artists, and respond quickly and firmly to such incidents.
We will also continue to do our best to protect the safety of our artists in the future.”
