Recently, new information has surfaced about Sojang, the YouTuber who was sued by Jang Wonyoung (IVE) for spreading false information and harassing idols through her videos. For about two years, Sojang's YouTube channel was a terrible problem for K-POP idols.
Under the guise of anonymity, she spread monstrous rumors about idols, targeting certain idols and fabricating rumors without any evidence, ranging from plastic surgery to bad behavior, and even allegations of assault, abuse, and discord.
The issue was that many people believed these rumors without verifying their sources, and Sojang gained millions of views by spreading hate and rumors towards idols. One of her favorite victims was Jang Wonyoung (IVE), whom she targeted daily.
However, her channel was eventually hacked and deleted, and Sojang posted a public apology on the community site Pann Nate, specifically apologizing to Jang Wonyoung. In July, it was revealed that Starship Entertainment was responsible for shutting down Sojang's channel, shedding light on why she specifically apologized to Jang Wonyoung.
In September, Starship Entertainment demanded severe punishment for Sojang. On January 17, 2024, it was announced that Jang Wonyoung had won her lawsuit against Sojang. Following this, the investigative show "Crime Chef" on JTBC released a report on the case, revealing new information about Sojang. According to sources, Sojang even hired part-time employees to write hateful comments against Jang Wonyoung.
She even posted an online job listing, offering to pay people to spread hate towards Jang Wonyoung on YouTube, asking them to leave hateful comments on all of her videos. It was also reported that Sojang is a 50-year-old woman, which shocked many in South Korea, as they couldn't understand why someone of that age would relentlessly attack Jang Wonyoung, who is not even 20 years old yet.
